Each year MIFWA together with the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia and the Fellowships around the nation to host Schizophrenia Awareness Week (SAW). Schizophrenia Awareness Week is a national awareness week that is held each year in May.
Schizophrenia Awareness Week aims to:
• raise community awareness of Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses
• raise community awareness about the physical health of people with mental illness
• address the stigma in the local community surrounding mental illness
It provides an opportunity to raise community awareness of schizophrenia and mental illness in general. We do this through a range of events designed to engage different sections of the community, including information displays and events across WA, a Symposium, and media coverage.
This year SAW will occur the from the 11th – 17th May 2014.
We are proud to have Heath Black and John Armstrong presenting at this year’s event. The events are quickly approaching please purchase your tickets ASAP to ensure you do not miss out.
