Youth & Community Assistant by City of Kalamunda

The main role of the Youth & Community Assistant is to work alongside the Youth Officer in the development, promotion and implementation of programmes relating to young people in the City of Kalamunda.

Some of the duties of this role will include:
- Assist in the promotion, implementation and evaluation of existing youth events and programs.
- Identify, research and develop new opportunities and initiatives for young people within the City of Kalamunda.
- Develop and maintain strong communication networks and professional engagement with young people, the public, inter-departmental staff, schools, community organisations and groups, funding bodies and all other stakeholders.
- Engage with local young people, ensuring they have an active voice in the City of Kalamunda through the organisation and participation of the U-Lead Youth Leadership program, National Youth Week celebrations and the Forrestfield Youth Initiative, along with peer to peer contact at various youth events.
- Develop, monitor and maintain various communication channels with local young people including updating the City website and The Influence Facebook page, creating/distributing flyers and utilising Mailchimp for email promotions/E-newsletters.

This position is part-time 15 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $17.71/hr - $24.15/hr depending on age. The position is a fixed term 12 month contract that also includes annual leave and sick leave. The successful applicant will be expected to commence in January 2018.
