Info: Rise Network is currently looking for an enthusiastic Youth Worker to work with young people aged 12-17 at our youth centre in Stratton.

• Part-Time role to commence during January school holidays
• SCHCDSI Award 2010, Level 3, $44,960.54 per annum + Superannuation + Salary Packaging
• Hours of Work :
o During School Term
 Direct Contact: 4pm-6:20pm Monday & Thursday afternoons at the youth centre
 Admin/Planning: 2 admin hours per week in our Midland office

o During School Holidays
 Direct Contact: Approximately 7.5hours per week running 2/3 excursions per week (Dates and times of shifts will be created in advance and will be done in collaboration between the Youth Worker and the Program Coordinator)

Rise Network is the main service provider of the Eastern Region with expansion into the general metro areas.

Rise is proud to have established a safe and supportive environment for young people in the Stratton area. Our youth centre is for all young people from a variety of cultural, family and socio-economic backgrounds, but largely attracts at-risk young people from the local area.

The primary role of the Youth Worker will be to engage with and support young people accessing the youth centre, and also to assist with the running of various centre-based programs.

The Youth Worker will assist with the management and administration of the Stratton Edge Youth Centre. They will contribute to the development and delivery of programs/activities for centre-based services. The Youth Worker will endeavour to engage with young people and disseminate information to young people in relation to the issues they present.

This position requires a detailed knowledge and understanding of the policies, practices and statutory requirements of work within this area. The criteria for this role are:

• Relevant qualification and/or relevant experience to undertake the range of activities required
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills evidenced by your experience of working with people experiencing complex issues and/or their families, friends, advocates and others
• Knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting on young people at risk.
• Ability to organise youth events and group activities
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a community setting
• The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
• Previous computing experience and average level knowledge of common computer programs such as internet and word processing programs

APPOINTMENT CRITERIA
• Current Working With Children clearance
• Current National/Federal Police Check
• Current C class driver's licence

• National Police Clearance (not more than 6 months old)
• Valid C Class Drivers Licence
• Valid Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate (not more than 3 years old). Rise can support you to update this certificate if necessary
